Belonging to the tropical land of Brazil, the plant is a timeless beauty with pretty flowers. Plant it directly into the soil, or in a pot it grows wonderfully anywhere. The flowers would give an old-school Victorian vibe to your room. They are subtle yet would make a statement for themselves.
Plant care: Over watering the plant would not be great. The plant come from the category of drought resistant plants, so water only when the soil appears dry. This would ensure that the roots are strong and healthy, and the flowers are bright and happy. Placing it in the part of home with 4-6 hours of direct sunlight is advisable.
ZZ Plant, Zamioculcas Zamiifolia
The ZZ plant is god sent for the current scenario we work in. Effluents and toxins from the running electronic devices have side effects in abundance (no explanations required). To curb these all you need an organic way out and this is where this simple looking cute plant comes in. It absorbs all the toxins xylene, toluene, and benzene from the air and purifies the air rendering it fresh and healthy. It has perfectly shaped small and sturdy leaves, with a glossy sheen to them.
Plant care: It can survive long times with out water. 2-3 times a week would be the ideal frequency. It blooms well in medium to low light areas, so place it anywhere without any worry.
Money Plant, Scindapsus
Needless to mention it our list, as you would have plenty of these in every corner of your home already. It is a highly versatile and absolutely low maintenance plant. It grows in literally anything and anywhere. Grow it in land, pot, empty bottle, and any other thing your creativity caters too.
It elevates mood, brings good luck, and most notably purifies the air. This plant is the one true winner of house plants category.
Plant care: Water it when you see the soil is dry. It doesn’t require much of a care otherwise.
Spider Plant, Chlorophytum
This silent worker won’t even let you realize its presence while it removes around 90% of the toxins from your home. Not only it is a great addition to the air purifying family, but also to the good-looking family.
Plant care: It hates direct and harsh sunlight, placing it away from it would be best. Direct exposure to the sun would make the leaves dry and brittle. It is not water loving either, check the soil moisture content before you water it by poking a finger in the soil. Let it dry out before you water it again.
Star Cactus, Haworthia Retusa
A must have succulent in your home. It is a very low-maintenance plant with a high appeal to the eyes. The tiny-shiny triangular leaves, bear petite white flowers from spring to summer. It would be lovely to keep on a shelf or your work desk corner.
Plant care: You can keep it outside or inside but ensure that it gets ample sunlight in a day. Do not keep it in a dark or shady place.
